Highampton Christmas Lunch served by elves! - Lip smacking delicious was the overwhelming verdict!

Highampton Nativity "Stable by Starlight" was a great success with all the children star actors and the event was well attended by the community with our fabulous PTFA providing refreshments and a raffle.

Tarka Class represented the school well at the recent KS1 Multi-Skills event at Holsworthy College and they are proud of their certificates. The Rev Skinner joined us for an advent assembly and the children visited Highampton Church for the Christmas Tree Festival.

Tarka Class have been busy this week. To support our learning about Marie Curie, we created a WWI hospital, with an ambulance containing a mobile x-ray unit. The children had an amazing time being soldiers, doctors, nurses and X-ray operators! Then we created our own x-rays with chalk!

In our science unit we have been learning about 'Light'. This week we have investigated how shadows are formed. We designed and made our own shadow puppets!

Tarka Class Spring Term

FOR HOMEWORK PROJECTS SEE "Home Learning" under 'Learning Hub' on the main selection area.

In gardening club we started to put together our potting bench-careful use of the screwdriver.

This week Tarka Class have been exploring different materials. Our challenge was to design and make a building which could withstand strong winds. Children worked together in groups to plan and then make their constructions. Fortunately for us it was a very windy day which helped us test them-they all survived the wind!
