In Maths, we have been learning about the place value of digits in numbers and have been partitioning numbers in different ways. The children have worked hard to develop their understanding of how numbers can be represented and broken down.

In Geography, we have started our exciting topic on earthquakes. The children learned about the layers of the Earth and plate tectonics, exploring how the movement of tectonic plates can cause earthquakes. They were fascinated by the powerful natural processes that shape our planet and are looking forward to learning more.

Ruby Class have had a fabulous first week back! We have been spending lots of time getting to know one another, and the children wrote some brilliant letters introducing themselves. They took great care and pride in presenting their work beautifully.

It was a pleasure to watch the children work together in teams during PE, where they devised tactics and strategies to solve problems and complete challenges. They showed fantastic teamwork, communication and determination.

Year 5 and 6 went to London to visit the Houses of Parliament, the British Museum, a walking tour of the sites and also they went to watch 'Matilda'! They had a fabulous time and they were extremely good Ruby role models the entire trip. Well done!

We have also begun our new Science unit on organisms, starting by exploring the nutrition that humans need to stay healthy. The children have made a fantastic start to their learning, and we are looking forward to seeing what the coming weeks bring!
